An infants normal physical and mental development will be affected by an inherited metabolic disease. It is mainly in early childhood with the involvement of one or more anatomical and functional system which is the nervous system. It is very important to every newborn babies to undergone newborn screening to have the advantage of early detection and to have proper treatment that can make the difference between lifelong impairment and healthy development.
